An additional 20% μ for safety
A 20% higher friction co-efficiency for slotted rotor than without slotted was proven in the DYNO test. The DIXCEL SD (slotted rotors) and the PD (plain rotors without slot) types were tested under the same conditions by the DYNO tester. The maximum difference of friction co-efficiency at a particular braking point in our favour was 20%. Engine tuning or suspension tuning can not make any change in a vehicle safety directly, but a 20% higher μ generated by brake components tuning can improve a vehicle safety a lot more and give a sense of comfort to the driver. Slotted rotors are not only designed to shorten the lap-time in the race track, they are also designed to improve a vehicle safety. They are a highly safety-featured item with high performance. - The 6 slots brake disc is adopted as standard in the SD type by considering various factor, such as pad wear, squeal and the removal effect
- The width, angle, and depth are decided carefully based on data of various races and tests.
- For 6 slots type, aggressive rotation (slots pointing forwards) is recommended for higher friction co-efficiency.
